SEM is the common use of marketing methods designed to create a website more visible to Google and other search engines. These methods include paid search methods, such as pay-per-click advertising. SEO, however, is an organic search marketing method used to make a website rank higher. Organic search in a sense that once you search for a word on a search engine it is what simply comes up.
